JD Social Login – JD Social Login plugin allows users on your site to use their social accounts to login/ register on your site.
- Create App go to the Twitter apps page (https://developer.twitter.com)
- Click Create New App
- In the new page enter the name and description of your app. This will be shown to your site’s visitors, choose something which explains to them that they are logged in on your site.
- In the website field enter the URL of your site. Ideally, this should be a landing page explaining that you are asking for Twitter access to let your users log in and link to your privacy policy and/or terms of service pages if applicable.
- In the Callback URL field provide your site’s URL. For example, if your site is accessible at http://www.abrandnewsite.com/mysite then the Callback URL field must be http://www.abrandnewsite.com/mysite/index.php.
- Click on “Create your Twitter application”.
- Consumer Key (API Key) This will be required in the plugin’s Twitter API KEY field.
- Consumer Secret Key(API Secret ) This will be required in the plugin’s Twitter Secret Key field.
- Login to your developer account (https://developers.facebook.com/)
- Create a new Facebook app
- Choose its platform
- Give the application a name
- Follow the Quick Start steps
- Provide the Applications details
- Disable the development mode
In the App Domains page enter all of the domain names that are going to be used by your site. Please note that adding / removing the www. in front of the domain name counts as a different domain. So if your site is accessible as both http://example.com and http://www.example.com then you must enter both domain names here, i.e. example.com and www.example.com. These domains must match the domain names of the Valid OAuth redirect URLs option you set up in the previous step.
- After you’re done click on the Save Changes button at the bottom of the page.
- On the left sidebar there’s a Products header with a plus sign in a circle next to it. Click on the plus sign to add a product to your app. Find the Facebook Login item and click on Set up.
- Find the Valid OAuth redirect URLs option. You will need to enter a URL in the form http://www.example.com/index.php?plugin=sociallogin&callback=true replacing http://www.example.com with the actual URL of your site.
Plugin Options
- You can choose which social account you want to show
- Set the Facebook Application ID (From Facebook Dev)
- Add the Facebook Application Secret Key (From Facebook Dev Console)
- In Facebook Callback Url paste your application’s URL link created earlier by Facebook Developers App
- Add the Twitter API KEY (From Twitter Dev)
- Add the Twitter Secret Key (From Twitter Dev Console)
- Paste the Twitter Callback Url that you created using the Twitter App
- Choose to add the button to the login page(com_user)
- Select the Redirection page/menu after the user logins on the site
- You can also rearrange the layout which social account will come first
- Choose the Button styling of the socials
