JD Tour Showcase is the extension for designing advanced tour packages in Joomla ideally suited for beginners and also meets the requirements for every developer & designer. It allows the user to create different tour packages based on different types of tours, also generate reviews and much more.
It includes:
- Unlimited number of tours and tour types can be generated
- Select the currency of any country
- Add the duration & day-to-day schedule of the tour package
- Give a detailed description of the facilities provided in the package
- Add any number of tour images to attract customers
- Enabled with auto calculated Discounts
- Provides a review system for the customer
Installation
The entire process of downloading the plugin to its installation is described here.
- Download the extension by visiting JD Tour Showcase Extension’s Official Page.
- Download the extension to your desktop.
- Go to the administrator section and then go to Extensions > Manage > Upload Package File.
- Under upload package file, click browse and select JD Tour Showcase Extension. Then click Upload and Install.
Configuration
In JD Tour Showcase module settings, you will work on two tabs that are Module & Menu Assignment from where you can Create/Customize the module in easily.
General settings
Here you can see how to configure the basic settings like creating the tour types, designing the tours for different tour types and the review system.
- Tour Type: Create the type of tour that your package will contain.
- Tour: Add the details of the tour like the title, price, discount, features, duration, tour description, tour images, facilities & day-to-day schedule.
- Review: You can only see the reviews submitted by the customer that are unpublished by default. Its the PRO version feature.
How to create the Tour Types:

- Click on the New button at the top left corner in green.
- Assign title to the tour type.
- Click on Save & Close. Then click on Save & Next and create unlimited number of tour types that your package might contain.
- You can also duplicate the tour type by clicking on the ‘Duplicate’ or on ‘Save as Copy’ button inside the tour type.
How to create the Tours:

- Click on the New button at the top left corner in green.
- Add the name of the tour in Tour Title box.
- Select the Type of tour from the dropdown menu that contains the list of tour types created earlier
- Add the thumbnail image related to the tour. It can be selected by providing the folder path or by giving the url link of the image or by simply choosing the file and uploading it.
- Give the total cost of the tour package in the Total Price box.
- Select the currency from the dropdown menu of your choice.
- Write the price postfix that will give the price of the package as per the postfix entered eg: Price per person.
- You can enable or disable the discount on your tour package (by default it is disabled). If enabled first select the type of discount that is either percentage or fixed; enter the percentage discount value/enter the fixed discount value.
- You can also add the special features of your tour package by clicking on the plus icon in green under ‘Add Features’.
- Write the total period of the tour in ‘Tour Duration’ box.
- Write the final destination of your tour package in ‘Tour Destination’ box.
- You can also add any number of images related to the tour like special attractions and others in the ‘Tour Gallery’.
- You can also provide a small description about the tour to grab attention from the customers.
- Add a detailed description about the different facilities that are included in the tour package.
- Along with the detailed description about the facilities you can also simply add icons or images related to the facilities so that it is easier to understand under ‘Facilities’.
- Write a small/detailed description about the schedule of your tour package.
- You can also provide a day-to-day schedule of the tour equal to the tour duration under ‘Schedule’.
- Enable or disable the Sidebar that might contain another module (like the Simple Contact Form or Login/Register) assigned at the selected module position that will appear along with the tour in the tour detail page.
- After entering all the required details click on Save & Close on top and your tour will be created and saved.
- You can also either ‘Publish’ or ‘Unpublish’ the tours that are created such that only the published tours will be visible at front end.
- Similarly you can create/add multiple tours for a single or multiple tour types.
- A copy of the tour can also be created by clicking on Save as Copy and the copied tour will have the same name and details as the original but will be unpublished by default.
- Click on the New button at the top left corner in green.
Module settings
Here you can see how and where your module will be present at front-end like title, layout, position, order of displaying the tours and on what all menu items page the module will be displayed. Here you have to mainly deal with Module and Menu Assignment tabs.
- Module: Select which tour type tours you want show in a grid format from most recent first to arranging them randomly and at which position on your website, also to which page will they be redirected if the customer clicks on the button.
- Menu Assignment: Here you can selected on which pages the module will be displayed by choosing the different categories from the dropdown menu.
How to publish JD Tour Showcase Module:
- Write the title of your Tour Showcase module in the ‘Title’ box.
- Select the type of tour from the dropdown menu whose tours will be displayed at front-end.
- Select the number of columns for the grid under ‘Grid’ from the dropdown menu such that the tours will be displayed within those columns only.
- You can set the number of tours in ‘Limit’ that will only be displayed at front-end within the grid.
- Select the order in which the tours will be displayed from the options provided in the dropdown menu that is from ‘Most recent first’ to ‘Random’.
- You can provide the Button text to redirect customers to view all the tours for that tour type like See more. or View more.
- Assign to the page the for which the customer will be redirected after they click on the button test from the option given in the dropdown menu containing the menu and sub-menu items.
- You can also ‘Show or Hide’ the title name from the option provide on the right side of the screen.
- Assign to which position the module will be published under ‘Position’ option.
- Click on Save & Close button on top and your module will be saved.
How to assign the Module on different pages:
- On all pages- This will display the module on all the pages of the website
- No pages- This will not display the module on any page.
- Only on the pages selected- This will display the module only on the selected pages.
- On all pages except those selected- This will display the module on all the pages excluding the selected pages.
- Click on Save & Close button on top and your module will be saved.
Menu item settings
Here you can see how the Tour Showcase component will be displayed by selecting the menu item type. Here you only have to deal with two tabs that are the Details & Required settings.
- Details: Select the menu item type for JD Tour Showcase among the given options:
- Tour Types- It only displays the tours of that tour type
- Single Tour- It only displays a single tour selected
- Tours- It displays all the tours.
- Required Settings:
- If the menu item type is selected as Tour Type then, here you have to choose the tour type and the number of columns for the grid to display the tours.
- If the menu item type is selected as Single Tour then, you only have to choose the tour type that will display a particular tour of that type.
